SDU Chelsea wins in Watertown

SDU Chelsea goes to Watertown and went a perfect 4-0 to win the Watertown Futsal Flurry tourney in the U14 division.

The boys started out the tourney by beating a tough team from Minot in a barn burner by a score of 4-3.  It was a good hard game to start the tourney with for the boys as they went up 3-0 early.  The Minot team stormed back to make it 3-2 by halftime.  In the second half the teams each scored goals resulting in the final score.  It was a set up for later in the tourney.

In the 2nd and 3rd games Chelsea defeated both Tempo and Brookings/Watertown Select teams.  Neither game was very tough but it allowed the Chelsea boys to find a flow and get ready for the championship.

The Championship saw a rematch of the 1st game and it didn’t disappoint.  The Minot boys came with revenge on their mind and played like it.  The game was a back and forth match with the game going to OT in a 3-3 tie.  In OT neither team was willing to quit as the game went down to a 1v1 match on the court with only the keepers helping.  Striker Braylen B and keeper Ehran C teamed up to get the game winner in a beautiful give and go play that allowed Braylen to get in on the keeper 1v1 and put the ball in the back of the net!

It was a great tourney finished off by a great game!  Great job boys on a well played weekend!
