SDU Revolution in Championship match in 2 tourneys

SDU Revolution started off their careers as a team with 2 Championship game runs in their 1st two tourneys as a team.

In Sioux Falls the Revolution boys went 3-0 in bracket play in three 1 goal victories allowing them to get to the championship match.  In the Championship match the boys found a tough opponent in Tempo Tornadoes.

The Championship match found the Revolution boys up 1-0 early.  The game was a tough back and forth match with Tempo finding the back of the net twice in the first half and going into halftime the SDU team was down 1-2.  In the 2nd half the game was a tough physical battle with both teams going for the win.  Unfortunately for Revolution there were no goals to be found for either team in the second half and the boys lost a tough game by one goal.

The very next weekend the boys played in the Watertown Futsal Flurry with revenge on their mind the entire time.  The 1st game Revolution beat the Tempo Ice Dogs in an easy 5-2 game.  BUT, the 2nd game brought a match up against the very team that beat them the weekend before in the championship, Tempo Tornadoes.  The game was once again a physical battle with lots of fouls and goals in this one.  Unfortunately Revolution lost again but this time by a score of 2-4.  The final game of bracket play was against Brookings/Watertown Select and Revolution needed a win to get to the ‘ship.  The boys played with a since of urgency and won the game going away, allowing them to get to the finals again where they would once again play Tempo Tornadoes.

In the Championship match a couple of small adjustments would be all it would take to make this game unlike the other two.  In an absolute defense “gem” of a game the boys would head to overtime in a 0-0 match.  In the OT period the boys would get down to 2v2 where Revolution players George S and Cayden M would outshine the Tempo players and combine to put away the game winner on a beautiful goal by George S.  While SDU Revolution won the match, the game was well worth its weight in gold in what was one of the best games of the tourney.

Great job Revolution in a great two tourney run of games!  Keep it up gents!!
